Walmart Home Decor: Affordable Finds

Good home design doesn’t have to be expensive! Today I’m sharing affordable Walmart home decor and furnishings I encountered in the wild while shopping for a custom room design this week.

When I’m creating custom mood boards or looking for design solutions for a home coaching session, I encounter furniture and decor pieces along the way that might not be a perfect fit for my client’s home, but might just be a perfect fit for yours.

Here are this week’s design finds in the wild!

Walmart Home Decor: Furniture

You don’t have to compromise on your style if you have a small budget. You just need to look in the right places.

Scour second-hand and discount shops, and search for similar options from stores like target, Walmart, or even amazon.

I was surprised to find these furniture pieces from Walmart this week. Go for a mid-century modern style with this beige accent chair and Walker Edison dresser. An arched, black bookcase adds a modern touch, along with this arched tv stand and coffee table by Drew Berrymore.

Textiles: Rugs, Pillows, Bedding

Rugs can make or break a room, and these are stunners for sure. Add some good colors and textures with these styles. I loved this striped duvet cover too, it’s a classic pattern and style combination. Throw pillows for the couch or bed are easy items to swap out every once in a while to change things up.

Accent Decor

A wavy mirror is a great way to add character to a small space like a bathroom or entryway. I loved this marble trinket dish – style it on a bookshelf or countertop. I keep seeing this scallop tray too – how cute!

Affordable Finds: Walmart Home Decor

Decorating and furnishing your home on a budget doesn’t always feel possible. And while I do think there are some home items that are worth investing in for a high quality, long-lasting piece, you don’t need to splurge on every single item. Saving up for high quality pieces of furniture usually means they’ll last longer in your home, and less cost overall because you won’t be replacing it in 5 years.

Decide what fits into your budget now, and create the home you love. Walmart.com has some great, styling finds that can help!

I firmly believe you can make any house a home, on any budget, with the right design principles in hand. That's why we bought the worst house on the block: an abandoned 90's home I call the Peppermint House.
